As a result of a large-scale stocking campaign carried out by the company "Orto-Tokoy Intymagy," 1.2 million juvenile sturgeon were released into the Orto-Tokoy reservoir. Each of them weighed an average of 0.45 grams. This process was monitored by a special commission that included experts from the Department of Fisheries and representatives of the ecological tourism police, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
This event is part of the approved forecast plan for 2025–2026, aimed at the artificial reproduction of fish stocks in the country's state water bodies. The initiative of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry is directed not only at increasing the industrial potential of the reservoir but also at maintaining the biological balance in the region's ecosystem.
Experts emphasize the importance of regular stocking as a key condition for the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan's fishing industry and the preservation of the natural balance of high-altitude water bodies.
