The USDA maintained its forecast for Russian wheat harvest at 89.5 million tons for the 25/26 season in March.
Of the total harvest, 63 million tons are expected from winter wheat, while 26.5 million tons will come from spring wheat.
According to the methodology of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the export of agricultural products from each country is accounted for by marketing year rather than calendar year. This period covers the time when the harvested crop is marketed.
The marketing year for each exporting country is set separately and lasts for 12 months. For example, for Russian wheat, it begins on July 1 of the current year and ends on June 30 of the following year. Thus, the 2025/26 season for this crop will start on July 1, 2025, and end on June 30, 2026.
In 2025, Russia ranked second among the countries supplying wheat to Kyrgyzstan, providing a third of the total import of this crop.
