Wheat Harvest in Russia Will Increase by 10% in the 2025/26 Season, - USDA
The forecast includes 63.0 million tons of winter wheat and 26.5 million tons of spring wheat.
The yield is expected to be at a record level of 3.4 tons per hectare, which is 16% higher than the previous season's figure. The area to be harvested will amount to 26.3 million hectares, which is 5% less than last year.
According to the methodology of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, agricultural product exports are accounted for by the marketing year, which differs from the calendar year. This period denotes the time when the harvested crop is sold.
The marketing year, lasting 12 months, is calculated individually for each exporting country of agricultural crops.
For Russian wheat, the marketing year covers the period from July of the current year to June of the following year. Thus, the 2025/26 season for Russian wheat starts on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2026.
In 2025, Russia ranked second among wheat suppliers to Kyrgyzstan, accounting for one-third of the total import volume.
