A decision has been made in Kyrgyzstan to reduce mandatory tax payments for workers in the sewing sector. The Deputy Chairman of the Tax Service, Kubanychbek Isabekov, shared this information on the air of "Birinchi Radio".
He noted that previously the main burden for enterprises in the sewing industry was not the rates of the unified tax, but the payments related to income tax and insurance contributions for workers. Depending on the category of employees, these payments varied from 5,500 to 9,500 soms.
“Considering that these amounts turned out to be too high, we decided to consolidate all categories of workers and reduce the payment to 2,500 soms. As a result, tax payments were reduced three to four times. After this, representatives of the sector expressed their readiness to conduct transparent activities and officially register employees,” Kubanychbek Isabekov said.
He also noted that in 2022, a unified tax rate of 0.25 percent was introduced for the sewing industry, which is the lowest rate for the manufacturing sector.
According to the official, for other industries, the tax rate is significantly higher: it is 4 percent for cash transactions and 2 percent for non-cash transactions.
In addition, some representatives of small businesses still have the option to work under a patent. For example, for small sewing workshops with 10 machines, the tax is 2,000 soms, and for each subsequent 10 machines, it is 1,000 soms. At the same time, the total turnover for each patent must not exceed 8 million soms.
Kubanychbek Isabekov emphasized that the sewing industry plays an important social role, providing jobs for thousands of people. The state is interested in creating conditions for the legal and sustainable operation of businesses.
