- A pilot project aimed at stabilizing meat prices and developing meat livestock farming will be launched in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced by Mukhtar Chynaliev, the director of the Department of Processing Industry and Organic Agriculture of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, in an interview with the radio.

Chynaliev noted that the project is focused on ensuring food security in the country.

The pilot initiative will be implemented in Bishkek and the Chui region. If successfully launched, the project is planned to be expanded to other regions of Kyrgyzstan.

“Funding of up to 1.5 billion soms has been allocated for the implementation of this initiative. These funds will be used to create 10 production chains (clusters) in the field of meat livestock farming. Each chain may receive up to 150 million soms,” he added.

The project covers the entire production cycle: from fattening livestock to selling finished products, including stages such as fattening, light processing, slaughter, cooling, packaging, and selling meat.

The cluster approach will be the basis for the project's implementation. Each cluster should form three key chains: production, processing, and sales. There is also the possibility of financing the import of livestock for fattening, but this is not a mandatory condition.

To participate in the project, entrepreneurs must unite and divide functions. For example, one participant may focus on fattening, another on processing and slaughter, and a third on product sales.

Financing will be carried out through state banks, and participants must meet certain requirements, including having a credit history and collateral.

Chynaliev emphasized that without uniting into clusters, obtaining financing will be significantly more difficult.
