The agribusiness offers the president an emergency plan to save the meat market

In light of the anticipated surge in meat prices on international markets, agribusinessman Bakytbek Mamytkanov, in collaboration with the Agroholding of the Kyrgyz Republic, has presented an initiative to launch an emergency program aimed at maintaining stability in the domestic market.
He emphasized that without immediate action, the rise in global prices could negatively impact domestic prices and exacerbate inflationary pressure.

Allocation of 2 billion soms for livestock fattening

The main idea of the initiative is the urgent allocation of 2 billion soms for the implementation of a special project aimed at fattening cattle (bovine livestock). The purchase of bulls is planned to begin in the shortest possible time, and the fattening will be organized at existing sites in the Chuy region.

According to Mamytkanov, the necessary facilities and infrastructure are ready for use. Even in the event of funding delays, entrepreneurs are prepared to start work immediately after a decision is made at the state level.

- We have everything necessary for fattening. We are ready to purchase bulls and begin intensive fattening. We expect to bring meat to the market within two months, - he noted.

Social prices for meat through 11 points in Bishkek

As part of the project, it is planned to sell meat at affordable prices through 11 specialized points in Bishkek. The initiators are confident that the price of the products will be lower than current market prices due to direct supplies without intermediaries and trade markups.

The entrepreneur emphasizes that the proposed measures are aimed at long-term price stabilization, not temporary actions.

- Taking measures to reduce meat prices is critically important; otherwise, it could lead to accelerating inflation. I propose to the president an anti-crisis program that can be implemented immediately, - added Mamytkanov.

Economic efficiency of the project

According to the initiators' estimates, an investment of 2 billion soms will help quickly increase the volume of meat and improve supply in the domestic market. The cycle of intensive fattening is approximately 8-9 weeks, allowing for a rapid response to price situations.

The expected economic effect includes several key areas:

increasing the supply of meat in the domestic market;reducing price pressure in retail;curbing food inflation;supporting local livestock breeders through guaranteed sales.

The initiators emphasize that in the context of an unstable global economy, it is necessary to take preventive measures rather than react to price spikes that have already occurred.

The need for political support

For the successful launch of the program, an important condition is the adoption of a special resolution on stabilizing meat prices at the level of the president and the government.

Mamytkanov noted that the idea of the project has been discussed since 2021, but has not yet been officially considered.

The final decision depends on the position of the country's leadership. At the same time, the initiators insist on the need for the immediate launch of the program in light of the current situation in the global food market.

This project could not only become a pilot for Kyrgyzstan but also serve as a foundation for serious transformations in the livestock sector in the country.
