

In Kyrgyzstan, a phased increase in electricity tariffs is expected from 2025 to 2030, which will correspond to inflation indicators. This was reported by Timur Orozaliev, director of the Department for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, in an interview with the program "Elden Sobol" of the agency "Kabar".
Starting May 1, 2025, a new medium-term tariff policy will come into effect, calculated until 2030.
“This year we are moving to the next stage of tariff policy. Currently, the number of consumer categories has been reduced to 7 from the previous 14. At the same time, support for low-income families will remain, and their tariff will stay at 50 tyiyn per kWh within the limit of 700 kWh,” Orozaliev explained.
New tariffs for households and organizations:- For households up to 700 kWh: the new tariff will be 1 som 64 tyiyn (an increase of 27 tyiyn).
- For households over 700 kWh: the tariff will be 2 som 94 tyiyn (an increase of 34 tyiyn).
- For residents of hard-to-reach and high-altitude areas: the tariff will remain at 1 som 64 tyiyn (an increase of 27 tyiyn).
- Social and public facilities (e.g., pumping stations, religious organizations, boarding schools, institutions for people with disabilities and the elderly) will pay 2 som 96 tyiyn (an increase of 34 tyiyn).
- Industrial enterprises: the tariff will be 3 som 65 tyiyn.
- Budgetary institutions: 4 som 62 tyiyn.
- Commercial consumers: 4 som 33 tyiyn.
- Energy-intensive industrial consumers: 6 som 84 tyiyn.
- Charging stations for electric vehicles: starting May 1, the tariff will be 5 som 99 tyiyn.
