In the Kara-Sui District, in the Papanskoy Ayil Okmotu, educational events were held aimed at explaining the rules of hunting and environmental protection. These meetings were organized in response to alarming statistics indicating an increase in violations in this area.

According to information from the Osh regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, 48 cases of violations of hunting legislation were registered in 2024, with total fines amounting to about 800,000 soms. In 2025, this number increased to 178, and the amount of fines exceeded 2 million soms. The trend of increase continues: in the first two months of 2026, 78 protocols have already been issued.

Local residents were informed about the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 55 "On the Rules of Hunting on the Territory of Kyrgyzstan," which came into effect on February 4, 2025. Participants of the meeting received information about the legal conditions for hunting and the consequences of poaching.

Special attention was paid to the protection of rare species of animals. Experts from the southern branch of NABU Kyrgyzstan presented a presentation dedicated to the snow leopard, the national symbol of the country, and discussed the critical need for its conservation, as well as the factors threatening its survival.

Representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, employees of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service, and specialists from NABU participated in these events. Similar meetings are planned to be held in other districts of the region to prevent illegal hunting and preserve the biodiversity of the area.
