From March 20 to April 10, 2026, a nationwide agricultural census will be held in Kyrgyzstan.
According to Alymkulova, the purpose of the census is to gather comprehensive information about the state of agriculture, including the number of farms, livestock population, availability of buildings, agricultural machinery, as well as the use of technologies and resources. "This initiative is extremely important for forming an objective agricultural policy and planning investments in this sector," she added.
The head of the office noted the need for close cooperation with government agencies and local authorities, who will be responsible for the successful conduct of the census.
It is planned that the census will be fully transitioned to an electronic format. "We will use mobile applications for the work of enumerators, and the information will be transmitted to the central server of the National Statistical Committee. The server is protected at all levels, which guarantees confidentiality and rapid data processing," Alymkulova emphasized.
Currently, as part of the preparation, training of staff in the central office is underway, and recruitment of enumerators, registrars, instructors, controllers, and coordinators is ongoing. A total of 6,791 temporary workers are expected to be hired, with salaries set by the Cabinet of Ministers.
