At a meeting led by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, organizational aspects of the upcoming agricultural census were discussed. The Information Support Department of the Cabinet's apparatus reported on the progress of the discussions.
Baktybek Kudaybergenov, Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, stated that the census will be conducted exclusively in electronic form, without the use of paper media.
Data collection will be carried out using mobile applications on the enumerators' devices, and all data will be transmitted to the central server of the National Statistics Committee through secure communication channels, ensuring confidentiality and rapid processing of information.According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision, the census is scheduled from March 20 to April 10, 2026.
During the meeting, it was also noted that significant preliminary work has been completed:
- census forms and key indicators have been fully agreed upon with relevant ministries and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO);
- four census forms, instructions for staff, and a detailed calendar plan have been approved;
- a pilot census was conducted in 2024, which allowed for the refinement of software and methodology;
- in 2025–2026, a multi-stage training of personnel (both in-person and online) was organized, during which the qualifications of more than 200 specialized professionals were enhanced.

Bakyt Torobaev emphasized that government authorities and local self-government bodies are responsible for the timely organization, logistics, and support for conducting the census on the ground.
