Kyrgyzstan has approved a significant plan for agricultural development aimed at industrialization by 2026. As part of the state strategy for modernizing production processes and increasing export capabilities, 75 new processing enterprises will be established in the country. The key areas will focus on deep processing of meat, dairy, and fruit and vegetable products. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, 6 billion 203 million soms have been allocated for the implementation of these initiatives. Funding will be provided through private investments, preferential government loans, and support from international financial organizations.
The new enterprises will be distributed across all regions of the country, which will create jobs in rural areas. Naryn region will lead in the number of new capacities, with plans to open 15 factories. In Jalal-Abad region, 14 production facilities will be launched, and 12 in Issyk-Kul. Osh and Batken regions will each have 9 facilities, while Chui and Talas regions will have 8.
Modern factories will cover all key areas of the agro-industrial complex. In particular, the plan includes the establishment of 14 workshops for processing vegetables and fruits, as well as 6 logistics centers with refrigerated warehouses. The program also includes the opening of 10 trade-logistics hubs and 10 slaughterhouses. The meat industry will be strengthened by 8 processing plants, 6 of which will focus on poultry production. The dairy sector will be complemented by 8 new enterprises.
In addition to traditional areas, the 2026 program envisions the creation of specialized productions: 5 factories for deep processing of wool, 5 flour and confectionery factories, 3 feed mills, as well as workshops for processing fish, honey, medicinal herbs, and rice. The opening of these facilities is aimed not only at providing the domestic market with quality products but also at enhancing the competitiveness of the "Made in Kyrgyzstan" brand on the international stage.
