The head of the currency exchange oversight department of the National Bank, Ravshanbek Murzaliev, spoke about the measures taken to combat unlicensed activities in the currency market.
As a result of inspections conducted throughout 2025, 178 currency exchange points operating without a license from the National Bank were identified in Kyrgyzstan. Appropriate measures were taken against these violators, including the imposition of fines.
The National Bank emphasized that exchange offices can only conduct transactions with cash foreign currency. Any other operations are considered illegal.
The regulator urges the public to exchange currency only at licensed exchange offices that operate transparently and strictly adhere to the requirements of the National Bank.
