The Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station, which is a subsidiary of OJSC "Electric Stations," is currently modernizing two hydro units simultaneously. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the ministry's information, the dismantling of the second hydro unit is already 90% complete, and specialists have now begun dismantling the first unit. At this stage, preparations are underway for the removal of outdated equipment, after which the installation of a modern hydro unit will commence.

It should be noted that the Uch-Kurgan HPP consists of four hydro units, each originally having a capacity of about 45 MW. The power station produces more than 800 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. According to the agency, after the modernization is completed, the capacity of the hydro units will increase from 180 MW to 216 MW, allowing for the production of over 984 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. The reconstruction of the hydro units is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
