In Kara-Balta, the modernization process of the oil refinery "Junda" is actively underway. The total investment in the project has increased to 193.75 million US dollars, with its completion scheduled for July 31, 2026.
To assess the current state of work, employees of the National Investment Agency, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Kara-Balta city administration, and the Akbashat district akimat visited the enterprise. This event was organized at the invitation of the LLC "China Petrol Company 'Junda'", as well as their investor — the Chinese Shanxi Coal Chemical Corporation.
During the visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the current stages of construction work and the readiness level of production facilities.
The project is being implemented under an Investment Agreement between the National Investment Agency and the LLC "Central Asian Energy Company", as well as through an additional agreement that provides for an increase in the volume of investments.
The plant has a processing capacity of 800,000 tons of oil per year. The main goals of the modernization include increasing the depth of processing, creating new jobs, and enhancing energy security in the country.
