In the city of Osh, utility rates have risen due to the ATR — the budget has been increased
The budget project provides for a significant increase in subsidies for several municipal enterprises funded by city funds.
One such enterprise is the Osh Improvement and Greening Plant. If last year the amount of its subsidy was 220 million soms, for 2026 this figure has increased to 425 million soms. The head of the plant, Azamat Sovetbek uulu, explained that of this amount, 247 million soms will go towards employee salaries. Last year, there were 365 people on staff, and this year there are 405. This increase is related to the expansion of the city's territory as part of the administrative-territorial reform (ATR) and the need to attract new drivers for the newly acquired equipment, he noted.
Additionally, 80 million soms will be allocated for improvement and greening. These plans include:
- improvement of a 1.5-kilometer section of the road leading to the international airport "Osh";
- planting trees on the central streets — Alymbek Datka and Kurmanjan Datka.
Changes have also occurred in the road sector. The municipal enterprise "Oshasfaltservice," which was allocated 350 million soms last year, is now regaining the status of a road management. This year, 500 million soms has been allocated for its activities, including new budget items.
Jenishbek Shonoev, the head of the department, emphasized the importance of fund distribution. "We are observing inflation growth and rising prices for construction materials such as asphalt and bitumen. We need to complete previously started projects and begin new ones. The majority of the allocated funds will be directed towards these goals," he added.
