Active work has begun in the Issyk-Kul region to prepare the irrigation system for the spring growing season of 2026.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry reports that activities aimed at improving and restoring the existing irrigation infrastructure have commenced to ensure agricultural lands receive the necessary irrigation water.
In the irrigation systems managed by the Issyk-Kul District Water Management Authority, mechanized cleaning work is being carried out in the rural area of Sadyr Ake. These activities are designed to increase the capacity of irrigation channels and ensure a continuous water supply during the spring fieldwork.
As part of the planned activities, mechanized cleaning of internal agricultural channels, which stretch for 26 kilometers, will be carried out in 2026. Currently, specialized equipment is being used for the phased cleaning of the channel beds from silt to ensure a free flow of water.
All the activities being conducted will allow farmers in the region to start spring fieldwork on time and create conditions for increasing the yield of agricultural crops.
