The State Tax Service (GNS) reminds taxpayers that they should verify their data on taxable property with the records of state registration authorities.
This concerns checking the information contained in title documents against data from the information system of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography (GU "Cadastre"), which is subordinate to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Individuals and legal entities are advised to ensure the accuracy of the following data in advance:
Tax Identification Number (TIN);
Full name or title of the owner;
Area of properties and land plots;
Purpose of the real estate;
Shares;
Dates of acquisition or alienation;
Other information.
The GNS noted that updating this data is extremely important for the correct automated calculation of the tax on real estate, both residential and non-residential, for 2026. The agency strongly recommends conducting this verification in advance to avoid possible errors in calculations.
According to current tax legislation, the assessment and calculation of property tax are carried out by tax authorities, while taxpayers are only required to pay the established amount on time.
Additionally, it was reported that in 2025, the first phase of implementing the automated system for calculating tax on residential properties was successfully completed, and in 2026, the second phase will begin — the automation of tax calculation for non-residential real estate. These steps are aimed at simplifying the process of calculating local taxes and creating more comfortable conditions for citizens.
