Outstanding gardener Ruslan Minbaev, one of the most progressive farmers in the country, shared his story ahead of the major forum "Agrodialog–2026." His path to championship began in 2012, and in 2016 he took a risky step by establishing a large blackcurrant plantation, becoming one of the first in this field in his region.
Refusing the traditional system of furrow irrigation, Ruslan implemented modern technologies, opting for drip irrigation. This transition proved decisive, allowing the farmer to harvest a record 28 tons of produce from just 2 hectares. In 2025, for his significant achievements, he was awarded the title of champion at the "Agrodialog" forum. Ruslan noted that behind the high results lies not only hard work but also continuous learning, including an internship in China, where he mastered the principles of smart agriculture and pest control methods.
His victory at the previous forum significantly accelerated the development of his business. The farm received support from local authorities and opened doors to international markets, becoming a participant in the European initiative "Macford-2025." Ruslan Minbaev is convinced that the upcoming "Agrodialog–2026" will be an important platform for many other farmers striving to implement innovations and improve the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan.
