A record growth of vineyards has been recorded in Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan, the agricultural sector is showing significant development in viticulture. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, by the end of 2025, the area of vineyards in the country reached 2870 hectares, which is 225 hectares or 8.5% more than the previous year. This positive trend has also reflected in production volumes: the gross harvest amounted to 5990.1 tons, and the average yield was 20.5 quintals per hectare.

To improve the quality of grape products, the government has focused on importing high-quality planting material. In the first half of 2025, seedlings from Serbia, which underwent strict quarantine checks, were imported into Kyrgyzstan. Special attention was paid to virus-free and technical varieties that can provide stable yields in local climate conditions. The center for the development of viticulture is also moving to the Batken region. In the Leilek district, particularly in the rural area of Jany-Jer, cooperatives are already engaged in growing modern varieties such as "Avatar" and "Kishmish." A new nursery is also being prepared for opening in this area, which will specialize in the production of seedlings of the "Avatar," "Monikur Singer," and various types of kishmish.

Digitalization, as an important step in supporting grape growers, includes the launch of a unified Agroportal. This platform helps farmers eliminate paper bureaucracy and receive government services in an online format. Through the portal, issues related to tariff quotas, registration of breeding farms, biological plant protection, and agrochemical soil research can be effectively addressed. The creation of such a digital space facilitates quicker access for market participants to relevant information and the implementation of modern technologies in their activities.
