By the end of 2025, the total area of vineyards increased by 8.5% compared to 2024.
According to the information from the department, the gross harvest of grapes amounted to 5990.1 tons, which is 1% more compared to the previous year. The average yield was 20.5 centners per hectare.
To support viticulture, quarantine phytosanitary inspections of grape seedlings imported from Serbia were conducted from January to May 2025. As a result, varieties free from viruses were selected, both technical and table grapes.
“In addition, initiatives to improve viticulture are actively developing in the Leilek district of the Batken region. In the rural area of Jany-Jer, cooperatives are engaged in growing seedlings of the 'avatar' and 'kishmish' varieties. There are also plans to create a new nursery that will specialize in the production of seedlings of the 'avatar', 'munkas finger', and 'kishmish' varieties,” the official statement adds.
