
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan has reported positive changes in the field of viticulture.
By the end of 2025, the total area of vineyards increased to 2870 hectares, which is 225 hectares more than in 2024, representing a growth of 8.5%. The gross harvest of grapes reached 5990.1 tons, which is 1% more compared to the previous year. The average yield was 20.5 quintals per hectare.
As part of the support for the industry, from January to May 2025, grape seedlings imported from Serbia underwent phytosanitary inspection and selection based on virus-free criteria and technical characteristics.
In the Leilek district of the Batken region, projects aimed at developing viticulture are also being implemented. In the rural area of Jany-Jer, local cooperatives are engaged in growing seedlings of the "Avatar" and "Kishmish" varieties. At the same time, a new nursery is being established, specializing in the production of seedlings of the "Avatar," "Monikur Singer," and "Kishmish" varieties.
To improve digital services in the agricultural sector, an Agroportal is functioning, providing farmers with the opportunity to receive government services online and keep up with the latest news and information in the industry. Among the available services are tariff quotas, registration of breeding farms, obtaining a fishing license, biological protection, and agrochemical services.
The Agroportal is focused on the digitalization of agriculture and the creation of a unified information environment for all participants in this field.
