As part of the "Agricultural Financing-14" program (AF-14), the conditions for farmers wishing to obtain loans have been significantly simplified. This was reported on February 11 by Mirbek Duyshiev, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Duyshiev noted that the main requirement for obtaining a loan in the crop production sector is the availability of land, which the farmer can either own or lease. In the livestock sector, it is only necessary to confirm the intention to purchase livestock; after receiving the funds, a report on the targeted use of the loan must be submitted to the bank within two months.
"We have done everything possible to simplify the requirements for obtaining a loan under the AF-14 program. For crop production, only the availability of land is required, while for livestock, a confirmation of the intention to purchase livestock is needed, along with subsequent reporting to the bank," he added.
The Deputy Minister also mentioned that under other programs, collateral requirements are determined by commercial banks, which can accept both movable and immovable property as collateral. At the same time, financial institutions are also striving to ease the conditions for farmers wishing to obtain preferential loans.
