Cases of concealing revenue were revealed in a cafe in Bishkek

The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic conducted a series of inspections of cafes in Bishkek that use fiscal software (FS) — a system that allows the transmission of sales data to tax authorities. These inspections were part of a pilot project aimed at implementing this system.

During the raids conducted at the "Kuldja HOGO" cafe chain, serious violations were discovered. In three establishments owned by the same owner, unregistered programs were used for conducting so-called "shadow" accounting, which implies that part of the revenue was not recorded in official reports.

Additionally, it was found that payments were accepted via QR codes registered to individuals rather than the company itself.

Cash was also found in the cash registers that lacked confirmations in the form of fiscal receipts.

According to preliminary data, since the connection to the FS, the unaccounted revenue amounted to about 12 million soms, and the estimated amount of unpaid taxes is around 648 thousand soms.

It is important to note that the use of double accounting and concealment of income is an offense. Such actions carry liability, including fines and criminal penalties in case signs of criminal activity are identified.

The Tax Service continues to conduct inspections and investigations.
