The minister shared plans to improve the processing and packaging of beans.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Bakyt Torobaev, who holds the position of Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry, spoke about the prospects for bean sales.
He noted that the price of this product on international markets has dropped from $1600 to $930 per ton.
“We are engaged in collecting beans and their separation, but in other countries, they also carry out fumigation and packaging. We should implement such processes as well. In addition, we plan to introduce beans into the menu for schoolchildren and soldiers to provide them with protein,” the minister said.
Torobaev added that due to the reduction in seed calibration to levels 5–6, it is necessary to update the planting material. He emphasized that the calibration of beans should be at least 8–9.
