She noted that the Talas region is famous for its bean harvests and urgently needs such a plant.
The Minister of Agriculture and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev confirmed the existence of a problem with beans, emphasizing that their price depends on global prices.
Torobaev reported that the current price of beans has dropped from $1600 to $930 per ton.
“We conducted a market analysis and decided to introduce fumigation of beans and their subsequent packaging,” he added.
He also noted that beans have a high protein content and the possibility of including them in the diet of military personnel and schoolchildren is being discussed.
According to the minister, the varieties of beans in Talas have become smaller, and farmers should update them, as well as consider options for growing other crops.
Torobaev also reported that in 2025 the state purchased 1000 tons of beans from farmers at a price of 95 soms per kilogram.
Currently, information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding preparations for spring field and agricultural work in 2026 is being considered.
