Torobaev also noted that the construction of 27 water facilities is planned in the Chui region. The deputy drew attention to the critical condition of irrigation canals in the region. The minister reminded that at the time of his appointment, there were only 6,000 kilometers of canals registered with the Ministry of Agriculture out of a total of 28,000. He added that during this time, it has been possible to add another 2,000 kilometers, with the aim of bringing the total to 10,000 kilometers.
Esenamanova pointed out that in Kara-Balta and other areas of the Chui region, the condition of irrigation systems remains dire: many canals are clogged, damaged, or non-functional, leading to reduced yields and water shortages during dry seasons. The meeting also reviewed information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding preparations for the spring fieldwork in 2026.
