The Housing Committee approved in the first reading amendments to the laws "On the Protection of Plant Life" and "On the Development of Agriculture"

- On February 9, 2026, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, a draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (to the Laws of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Protection and Use of Plant Life', 'On the Development of Agriculture in the Kyrgyz Republic')" was presented, which received approval in the first reading.

This draft law aims to improve legal regulation in the field of plant life protection, as well as to develop agriculture.

The proposed amendments include clarifying the rules for the use of plant resources, increasing responsibility for violations, as well as supporting farmers in crop production and harmonizing with other legislative acts.

The committee approved the draft law in the first reading.
