The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, reported that the prices for purchasing raw milk in the country depend on the time of year. From September 15 to March 15, dairy processing enterprises set prices ranging from 32 to 48 soms per liter.
“In the summer, the minimum price for milk is 32 soms per liter, while in the winter it can reach 48 soms. The services of milk collectors cost an average of 5 soms per liter,” added Kerimaliev. He also noted that in Bishkek, the price of milk is about 35 soms, and with the collector's services included, it is 40 soms.
A representative of milk producers, Aigul Nurumbetova, emphasized that farmers are asking not to lower the purchase prices and not to divide them by season. She believes that prices should be set at a level no lower than 40-45 soms, as the cost of feed has also increased, and many families depend on income from milk sales.
