"Our people drink not real milk, but diluted powder," - deputy
In response, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev stated that the country can indeed achieve this goal.
Abdibaeva also inquired about the countries to which milk is exported. The Deputy Minister reported that the main destination is Kazakhstan.
The deputy expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that raw milk is exported to Kazakhstan at a price of 40 soms per liter, and then, after pasteurization, is returned to Kyrgyzstan at a price of 120-130 soms per liter.
In this regard, Kerimaliev clarified that Kazakhstan does not purchase raw milk from Kyrgyzstan but only receives pasteurized products.
“Our citizens do not consume real milk; they only drink diluted powder. Especially in the capital, we receive milk of unknown composition. We need to raise the purchase prices for milk and sell it in specialized stores,” the deputy noted.
During the meeting, the implementation of the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh No. 1950-VII dated March 14, 2024, “On regulating purchase prices for milk,” which was submitted for approval, was also discussed.
