- On February 9, 2026, during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva raised the issue of opening a livestock market in the Issyk-Ata district.

She noted that the livestock market was previously located in Tokmok, but it has now been moved to the Kemin district, which has created difficulties for the residents of the Issyk-Ata district.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev commented that the issue of opening a new livestock market could be considered provided that the infrastructure meets the necessary standards.

“Regarding the livestock market in Tokmok, we provided a year to correct the identified violations, but no changes occurred, so the market was closed,” he emphasized.

He also added that there are 48 livestock markets operating in Kyrgyzstan, most of which do not meet the established requirements.

This discussion took place as part of the consideration of the draft resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh “On the progress of preparations for the spring field and economic work in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2026.”
