Intensive horticulture is being implemented in Toktogul on arid lands

An ambitious project has been launched in the Toktogul district of the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at developing 30 hectares of rain-fed land for the establishment of intensive orchards. The initiative belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture, which is focusing efforts on the implementation of modern agricultural technologies to support local farmers.

As part of this project, the district water management authority is constructing a reservoir with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters to supply water to the orchards, as well as installing drip irrigation systems. The area has already been fenced and protected from external influences. The land has been leased for a period of 5 years, which will give farmers the opportunity to implement long-term plans.

The planting of seedlings is scheduled for March. The use of drip irrigation will address the issue of water scarcity and simplify the process of caring for the plants, which in turn will increase their yield. The agency emphasizes that such projects are aimed at increasing the income of rural producers and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the region.
