A two-day business forum B5+1 is taking place in Bishkek, gathering representatives from the business circles and government structures of Central Asia and the United States. As part of the event, a press conference was held featuring Sergio Mora, the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, and heads of delegations from all countries in the region.

During the interaction with journalists, the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sadykov, emphasized that the B5+1 format represents a new stage in regional interaction, where business becomes an important catalyst for economic changes.

“Today's business is not just a participant but an active co-author of economic reforms. The B5+1 format opens up a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs in Central Asia to directly propose practical ideas to governments and international partners,” the minister noted.

He also highlighted three main significances of the B5+1 forum for Kyrgyzstan.

Strengthening regional cooperation.

The economies of Central Asian countries are becoming increasingly interdependent. The fields of logistics, trade, energy, and digital solutions require coordinated actions and joint initiatives. The B5+1 format facilitates the transition of regional communication into the realm of specific business proposals.

Improving the business climate.

Proposals from the business community aim to reduce administrative barriers, develop financial instruments for small and medium-sized enterprises, expand access to markets, and digitize public services. These initiatives are fully aligned with the current reforms being implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

Developing international partnerships.

Active engagement from the United States and the participation of regional businesses contribute to increasing investor confidence and open new horizons for trade, investment, and technology transfer.

“The main message of the forum is clear: Central Asia is a region of cooperation, reforms, and growing opportunities for international business,” concluded Minister Bakyt Sadykov.
