The committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of industrial policy, transport, energy, architecture, and construction, supported the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Renewable Energy Sources" in three readings.
Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov emphasized that this draft law aims to develop the renewable energy sector, modernize energy infrastructure, improve the investment climate, and promote sustainable economic development in the country.
Moreover, the draft law fulfills the president's directive aimed at attracting investments in the green economy.
“Currently, there are certain barriers to attracting investments in renewable energy sources. In this regard, it is proposed to establish tariffs in foreign currencies for the implementation of investment projects. This will help reduce risks for foreign investors and increase the attractiveness of our country for investments. The draft law also provides for preferential conditions and the introduction of mechanisms for auction-based tariff determination, which will ensure transparency in the selection process and enhance the competitiveness of projects,” the deputy minister added.
