The directorate responsible for managing sanatorium-resort and tourist facilities, with the support of the State Committee for National Security, is actively engaged in the return of lands and buildings that were illegally privatized back to state ownership.
According to the information from the agency, as a result of these efforts, 25 hectares of land and buildings with a total area of 5,389 square meters have been returned.
The directorate was established on March 25, 2024. Out of 16 facilities included in the list compiled by the Presidential Administration and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan, 15 were transferred to the directorate.
Many of the transferred facilities had long been neglected, partially deteriorated, and due to the lack of necessary restoration work, became unprofitable. At the time of transfer, their total debt for wages and mandatory payments amounted to about 90 million soms. Now, the debts have been fully settled, and thanks to effective management, the facilities have started to generate profit.
In 2023, the resorts and sanatoriums under the management of the Federation of Trade Unions recorded an income of 248 million soms (excluding the Workers' Health Fund).
The income of the facilities under the control of the directorate in 2024 amounted to 486 million soms.
In 2025, it was planned to achieve an income of 550 million soms; however, the actual income exceeded expectations and amounted to 779 million soms, which corresponds to 141 percent of the planned figure.
