- During the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, Deputy Ulan Primov inquired about the number of countries with which Kyrgyzstan has ratified investment agreements.

In response, the Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency under the President, Damirbek Bikulov, stated that more than 20 such agreements have been signed.

Deputy Ismanali Joroev asked about the amount of investments that have come from Italy to Kyrgyzstan.

Bikulov reported that in 2023, Italian investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 700 thousand dollars, in 2024 — 1.9 million dollars, and in the first 9 months of 2025 — 2 million dollars.

The deputy also clarified which specific sectors these funds are directed towards.

"Are there Italian citizens who have opened businesses by investing in Kyrgyzstan?" he asked.

The Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency replied that there are small investors, such as those who have opened cafes and similar establishments in Italy.

He added that work is currently underway to organize the export of products from Kyrgyzstan.

These questions were raised in the context of discussing the draft Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Italian Republic on the Promotion and Protection of Investments," signed on May 30, 2025, in Astana. This draft law was initiated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and submitted for the first reading (incoming No. 6-8/26 dated January 12, 2026).
