Analysts expect that Kyrgyzstan's budget surplus will decrease to 0.8% of GDP by 2028

- In the medium term, according to the EFSR report, a change in Kyrgyzstan's financial balance is projected (December 2025).

Analysts note that the budget surplus, which increased in 2024 and 2025, will gradually decrease.

Specifically, in 2024, the surplus was 2.3% of GDP, and a year later this figure will rise to 2.6%. However, in 2026, according to EFSR experts, the surplus is expected to decrease to 1.6%, in 2027 to 1.5%, and by 2028 it will reach 0.8% of GDP.

The authors of the report emphasize that the record budget surplus in 2025 was due to a significant increase in Kyrgyzstan's non-tax revenues.
