The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan has developed an Automated Information System for Water
The system will be used for comprehensive water resource management
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has developed an automated information system "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW) as part of initiatives for the digital development of water resource management.
This innovative system is designed for comprehensive management of water resources related to irrigation. The main goal is to enhance the efficiency of planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as to ensure transparency in the use of water resources.
The AIS UISW integrates data on objects and users of the irrigation fund, water management facilities, and irrigation systems into a single digital space. It provides the capability for planning the supply of irrigation water, accounting and monitoring water consumption, analyzing quantitative and qualitative indicators of water resources, and generating necessary reports.
The system incorporates geographic information technologies (GIS), which allow for the management of spatial data on surface waters, irrigation systems, water management facilities, and areas subject to irrigation, taking into account the crops being planted.
The launch of the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" into industrial operation across the territory of Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for early 2026. In the future, a phased modernization of the system is planned, along with the expansion of its functionality, automation of public services, and the introduction of digital services for water users.
