In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a presentation of a new pilot project was held, which includes a solar photovoltaic installation with a battery energy storage system (BESS) for commercial use. This project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The ministry clarified that the facility is equipped with a solar power plant with a capacity of about 50 kilowatts and a battery system with a capacity of about 200 kilowatt-hours. In addition, a digital energy consumption management system (PMS/EMS) has been implemented. All technological solutions are based on Korean equipment and engineering developments.
The system is capable of operating in both grid mode (on-grid), which allows for smoothing consumption peaks and optimizing electricity use, and in off-grid mode, providing electricity in case of emergency outages and supporting the operation of the microgrid.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, the private sector, higher educational institutions, and international organizations.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce emphasized that the implementation of such projects is an important step towards creating a practical foundation for the development of a "green" economy, the introduction of modern energy technologies, and increasing the resilience of the country's energy infrastructure.
