Farmers in Kyrgyzstan Warned of Possible Water Shortage

{lang_tg}
According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture, climate change and reduced precipitation in 2026 may lead to a shortage of water resources.
In this regard, the ministry has urged farmers to actively implement technologies that allow for water conservation, such as drip and sprinkler irrigation. It is also recommended to switch to crop varieties that require less moisture and to sow drought-resistant seeds.

Experts from the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture added that farmers can contact district agricultural development offices or ministry representatives regarding water supply issues.
The ministry also assured that during the irrigation season, efforts will be made for the fair distribution of water resources. The agency called on everyone to "approach the current situation with understanding and actively apply water-saving methods." {lang_tg} {lang_share_buttons}
