In recent years, Kyrgyzstan has been facing the problem of increasing turnover of illegal and counterfeit planting material, which negatively affects crop yields, contributes to the spread of diseases among plants, and causes economic damage to farming enterprises. In the context of a deteriorating agricultural situation, the government cannot remain indifferent — issues of agricultural security are becoming critically important for the country's food security. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
In response to these challenges, the ministry is developing a draft regulatory act that will require farmers, agricultural enterprises, and cooperatives to use only certified seed and planting material when cultivating agricultural crops.

Agricultural producers are recommended to:

• purchase seeds and seedlings exclusively from certified suppliers;

• request documents from sellers that confirm quality and origin;

• maintain an archive of certificates for each batch of planting material.

Furthermore, the ministry emphasizes: if farmers cannot demonstrate the quality, certification, and origin of seeds, they will lose the opportunity to receive state benefits and support.

It should be noted that currently the government:

provides preferential loans and land plots; cooperatives receive comprehensive support.
