EBRD will provide Kyrgyzstan with a loan and grant for the expansion of wastewater treatment facilities in Osh
The total amount of financing will be 8.3 million euros
On January 12, the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh approved in the third reading the draft law concerning the ratification of agreements on a loan and grant between Kyrgyzstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. These agreements are intended for the expansion of sewage treatment facilities in the city of Osh.
This project includes the modernization of the first complex of treatment facilities in Osh. The total amount of financing will be 8.3 million euros, of which 4 million euros will be provided as a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The loan will be issued for 15 years with a four-year grace period and an interest rate of 1% per annum, plus the 6-month Euribor. The remaining amount will be allocated as grants.
