Starting January 1, 2026, excise tax rates on alcohol will increase in Kyrgyzstan
The increase will be implemented in stages until 2029
Starting from January 1, 2026, an increase in the excise tax on alcoholic beverages is expected in the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the State Tax Service.
According to the press service of the STS, this decision was the result of a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, adopted on December 18, 2025. This resolution provides for a phased increase in excise tax rates on alcohol from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2029.
In particular, the excise tax for vodka will be 200 soms per liter starting January 1, 2026.
The State Tax Service also reminds participants in the alcohol market and taxpayers of the importance of considering these changes when planning their activities and fulfilling tax obligations.
