Since January 1, alcohol in Kyrgyzstan has become more expensive

Excise rates on alcohol increased in the Kyrgyz Republic

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has announced an increase in the excise tax on alcoholic beverages.

This increase is planned and is based on a government resolution of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted on December 18, 2025. Excise taxes will be raised gradually from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2029.

Now the excise tax rate on vodka is 200 soms per liter.

It should be noted that revenues from the sale of alcoholic products remain an important source of income for the state budget. In 2025, over four billion soms were contributed to the budget from excise taxes during three quarters, the majority of which came from the sale of strong alcoholic beverages.
