Alireza Tangsiri.
The commander of the IRGC, Rear Admiral Tangsiri, came under fire during activities to strengthen the defense of the islands and coastlines, as reported in a statement from the IRGC. He died from his injuries. "This occurred after serious strikes that led to the destruction of key enemy facilities and infrastructure, as well as the downing of an American fighter jet," the IRNA quoted a representative of the IRGC as saying.

Alireza Tangsiri began his career as the commander of a naval brigade during the Iran-Iraq War and later headed the 1st Naval District of the IRGC in Bandar Abbas. In 2018, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei appointed him as the commander of the IRGC. His responsibilities also included ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz.
