During a meeting with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Kazakhstan, Muhammad Said Muhammad Al-Ariqi, which took place on Monday, Tokayev expressed his concern about the situation in the Middle East, noting in particular the ongoing bombings by Iran on the territory of the UAE, as reported by the Akorda press service.
“Kazakhstan condemns the involvement of neutral countries in military conflicts in the Middle East, calls for an end to the escalation of violence and violations of sovereignty, as well as the territorial integrity of the UAE and other Gulf countries that are not participants in this conflict, and insists on moving towards a peaceful resolution of the situation,” the official statement said.
Tokayev also confirmed his readiness “in the spirit of goodwill to offer a platform for peaceful negotiations, should the need arise.”
The day before, speaking to the public in Turkestan, he suggested considering this city as a possible venue for negotiations. It should be noted that currently, the parties involved in the conflict — the USA and Israel on one side, Iran on the other — have rejected the possibility of direct negotiations.
