Kazakhstan is vaccinating all livestock in border areas with Russia

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbaev stated that all agricultural animals in this region will be subject to vaccination. He noted that veterinary protection has been strengthened, especially in the border zone, and the government is actively engaged in purchasing the necessary vaccines. The situation in the neighboring Novosibirsk region has worsened, leading to the introduction of a state of emergency on March 16 due to the spread of diseases such as pasteurellosis and rabies among cattle. Regional authorities have imposed quarantine in five districts and have begun mass culling of infected animals. Over the past 15 days, no new cases of disease among livestock have been reported.
Since February, Kazakhstan has imposed temporary restrictions on the import and transit of livestock, as well as on feed that has not undergone thermal treatment and livestock products. As part of these measures, disinfection of vehicles, cargo control, and traceability are being implemented. Similar measures have also been introduced by Belarusian authorities.
