Korean dessert café 'Dessert39' records record sales in Mongolia

According to information from MiddleAsianNews, the Korean chain Dessert39 reported record sales in its Mongolian stores, highlighting the growing interest in Korean desserts and café culture in the region.

According to data provided by the central office of Dessert39, from March 1 to March 9, 2026, sales volume in the Mongolian branches amounted to approximately ₮138.14 million (about 57.3 million won).

During the same period, the average daily sales volume was approximately ₮15.35 million (about 6.36 million won).

On certain days, sales in the two stores reached up to ₮48 million (about 20 million won), indicating high consumer interest.

Over nine days, 4,289 transactions were recorded, averaging about 477 transactions per day, with the average purchase amount per customer being around ₮28,700 (approximately 11,900 won).

In particular, the second Dessert39 store in Mongolia achieved sales of ₮23.36 million (approximately 9.69 million won) in one day, marking the highest revenue since its opening. The first store also showed good results, with daily sales of around ₮20.79 million (approximately 8.62 million won).

Considering the economic conditions in Mongolia, such sales figures are particularly significant. According to data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the GDP per capita in Mongolia (in purchasing power parity) is approximately $21,000, which is 30% lower than in South Korea ($67,000).

Thus, daily sales in Mongolia, amounting to around 20 million won, are equivalent to more than 60 million won in the Korean market.

Among the menu items, one of the most sought-after products has been the "Dubai Chewy Cookie," which played a key role in increasing sales volumes. This cookie, known for its chewy and crispy texture, has gained popularity among local consumers thanks to recommendations from friends.

These cookies are made locally in Mongolian stores using a recipe developed by the company's headquarters in Korea. Dessert39 is quickly introducing new popular Korean desserts in its stores, allowing local customers to stay updated on the latest trends.

Experts note that such results reflect the growing interest in Korean desserts and K-café culture in Mongolia. In recent years, there has been an increase in café consumption among youth, who are eager to find stylish establishments and new taste experiences.

A representative of Dessert39 commented: "The growth in café and restaurant consumption in Mongolia contributes to a sustainable increase in our sales. We intend to continue expanding our presence on the international stage by offering a variety of Korean desserts and unique experiences for café visitors."
