At a press conference on March 18, Ambassador Liu Jiangping emphasized: “I am very grateful to our Kyrgyz friends. The Kyrgyz leadership confidently supports China's position on issues related to Xinjiang. This reflects our mutual support on important issues concerning the interests of both sides, which is the essence of the strategic partnership between our countries.”
In response to a question about whether the information campaign against Xinjiang has quieted down, the diplomat noted that “false information will always be present.”
“Some Western countries use this topic for their own interests. Their main goal is to contain China. However, more and more people are learning the truth every day. I have been in Kyrgyzstan for a year and three months, and many of my local friends who have been to Xinjiang have seen for themselves what is happening there,” she added.
Liu Jiangping also noted that accusations of human rights violations and forced labor are fabricated.
“You know, when it comes to human rights issues or forced labor, that is not their real goal. They constantly create such contrived problems and obstacles. Their intentions are obvious,” the ambassador emphasized.
At the same time, she highlighted the connection between the region and Kyrgyzstan.
“Xinjiang is located next to Kyrgyzstan. I am sure that if everything is well in Xinjiang, it will have a positive effect on Kyrgyzstan. These two regions are interconnected,” she concluded.
