According to MiddleAsianNews, on March 10, 2026, the Second World Summit on Nuclear Energy took place in Boulogne-Billancourt, attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Batzetsgeg.

This event was organized with the support of France and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The summit discussed key issues regarding the role of nuclear energy in combating climate change, financing energy projects, safety, advanced technologies, and the development of international standards in this field, including fuel supply for small modular reactors and nuclear power plants.
The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, held a meeting with Batzetsgeg Batmunkh at the summit on March 10. Details can be found on the official website of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the development of key partnership relations that strengthen the sovereignty of both countries in the areas of energy, transport, and civil protection. They also prepared an agreement to establish AFD, which will allow France to more actively support common priorities.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable and responsible development, especially in the lead-up to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), which will be held in Ulaanbaatar from August 17 to 28, 2026. Mongolia's participation in the upcoming "One Health" summit in Lyon was also discussed.
Mongolia joined the summit by signing the Declaration "Affordable and Safe Nuclear Energy for All" and the Joint Statement on Financing the Nuclear Energy Sector.
