Kuwaiti media: Iran's Supreme Leader was secretly flown to Moscow for treatment

The operation was conducted using a Russian military aircraft.

According to information provided by a high-ranking source from the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was evacuated to Moscow for treatment as part of a secret operation. It is reported that he sustained injuries on the first day of the military operation by the US and Israel, which began on February 28, and requires hospitalization and constant medical care.

According to the source, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, offered to send Mojtaba for treatment in Moscow during a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian last week. That same evening, Khamenei was flown out on a Russian military aircraft. Upon arrival in Moscow, he underwent a "successful" operation, after which he is receiving treatment in a special clinic located in one of Putin's residences.

The reasons for Mojtaba's evacuation to Moscow included not only difficulties in providing medical care amid the military conflict but also threats from Israel regarding his elimination. Iranian intelligence services express concerns about a possible leak of information regarding the whereabouts of Ali Khamenei's son from the doctors involved in his treatment.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry previously confirmed information about his injury but stated that the condition of the Supreme Leader does not raise serious concerns. Three sources from The New York Times in the Iranian government reported that he sustained injuries to his legs. Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth noted that Mojtaba is "injured, disfigured, and in hiding," while US President Donald Trump questioned his life status.

The British tabloid The Sun, citing an Iranian source, claimed that the new leader of the country "may be deprived of one or both legs" and "is apparently in a coma."

Trump has called for Mojtaba Khamenei to surrender and labels him "unacceptable" for the US, emphasizing that he will not accept a successor to the slain ayatollah. He also stated that he must personally participate in the appointment of the new leader of the country, otherwise, that leader "won't last long."
